Steve Holland hopes to solve the future of young goalkeeper Owain fon Williams without necessary having to attend a tribunal. The Wales Under-21 International has not returned to full-time training with us as his contract expired at the end of June - but as he is under the age of 24, Crewe Alexandra are entitled to compensation if he moves to another club.

Holland is hoping an interested club will step forward and offer an acceptable fee thus avoiding another tribunal. Having invested a lot of time and effort into developing fon Williams as a young International goalkeeper, the Railwaymen management feel they could present a strong case regarding his potential.

Crewe's first team coach Steve Holland has already stated that he was willing to offer fon Williams the number one shirt this coming season at the age of just 21, but the youngster rejected the club's offer of a new contract and he is still to sign for another club.

Steve told the club's official web-site: "We have made no secret of the fact that we wanted Owain to re-sign for us. We made him a great offer and the chance to start the season as our number one goalkeeper, but he made it known that he didn't want to sign.

"He hasn't attended training with us during the summer and we will have to sit down and decide what the best way forward is to handle the situation because of his age we are still entitled to compensation.

"Hopefully, a club will make us a suitable offer and we can agree on a compensation figure without having to attend a tribunal."
