Competition For Places Hots Up
Steve Holland has told crewealex.net that competition for places is already hotting up with certain players desperate to force their way into the plans of the first team coaches. Holland has kept a watchful eye on who has been pushing themselves during the summer and says their desire to train and make an impression could see one or two given a chance to impress sooner than they realise.
The Alex players don't have much of a summer break and after narrowly escaping relegation last season, the coaching staff and fitness coach Andy Franks have already been putting them through their paces when introducing individual programmes for the players during the closed season.
Steve explained: "The attendance sheet over the summer always makes for interesting reading. There are a number of players who have worked very hard over the summer and it is evident they have their bit between their teeth.
"They will get their chance in the pre-season games and could yet force their way into the team. There could be one or two who are closer than they think at the moment because of the work they have done over the summer."
