Crewe Alexandra's young goalkeeper Owain fon Williams was an unused substitute as Wales Under-21 lost 2-0 to England in Wrexham. Fon Williams was behind the Wolves' keeper Wayne Hennessey in Brian Flynn's pecking order as goals from Tom Huddlestone via the penalty spot and Theo Walcott resulted in Wales' first defeat in five games.
