It's not too long before the some of the youth of Crewe Alexandra find out where their future's lie.

With only 9 games left of the season time is running out for them to prove they are worthy of a professional contract, and with the coaching staff having been keeping a close eye on them all season, the youngsters only have another 2 months to find out if they are one of the chosen few.

Come April Academy Manager's James Collins and Neil Critchley will sit down with Dario, Steve and Neil and discuss the outcome but until then the boys must continue to play at their best with performances as they have done all season and await their fate.

James Collins says: "I think the second years are under a bit of pressure because there are only 7 or 8 games left now, whatever pressure we take off them I think they feel it, they go out there, we certainly don't have to wind them up for games because they want to do well and get that professional contract.

"It's on ongoing process, we regularly have a Monday morning meeting and the progress of them all is discussed. It's an ongoing thing throughout the season, we actually tell the boys in April time. We will have a meeting with Dario, Steve and Neil and thrash that out and decide who we are going to take and who we aren't going to take."

Producing good young players is what the Alex is all about so making the right decision is the important thing for all the coaching staff as James admits, but with a good season behind them they all show good potential:

"I don't think you lose every week if you have good players, but having said that if we win the League it doesn't mean we are going to produce 7 or 8 pro's. It is all about how many pro's we get through and how many get into the first team I think, that is the most important thing."
